MEEP! Together Parental Portal

 

MEEP! Together is our own Parental Portal. It has been created to ensure that parents will be able to set parental controls on the MEEP!X2 the way they want.

 

MEEP! Together is currently available via different supports:

 

. Web version at the following address: http://portal.meeptablet.com

. On the MEEP!X2, via the Parental Settings App located on the left-hand menu

. iOS and Android versions, available to download for free from the App Store and Google Play

 

8.1 Web version

 

Please read the following before to visit our MEEP! Together Website:

 

. MEEP! Together is our web version of the Parental Portal. By using it, you can set and modify your parental settings, allocate coins, chat with your child and monitor his activity. Simply visit our website at the following address:  http://portal.meeptablet.com

. Our MEEP! Together website is designed in HTML 5 so as to provide you with the most optimized browsing experience. Both Google Chrome and Apple Safari are HTML 5 compatible browsers. It is not the case for all versions of Internet Explorer and Firefox. If you’re using one of those browsers you won’t be able to access MEEP! Together and you will be suggested to use Chrome or Safari by clicking on the links (a. and b.). Those browsers are free to download.

. Some of the older versions of Safari and iOS (before or equal to 4.3.3) can also be problematic. It is recommended that you download the latest version available.

. You can also download the iPhone or Android MEEP! Together App from the Apps Store or from Google Play. They will provide you a trimmed version of the MEEP! Together.

. The best display resolution for our website would be 1024 x 768, but you may still be able to enjoy MEEP! Together with a lower resolution but a full display experience won’t be guaranteed.

 

 

8.1.1 Starting Page

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

. Visit http://portal.meeptablet.com to access the login page of the parental portal.

. You can click on “Help” (a) to get support from our customer support team as well as online support material. You can click anywhere outside the help window to go back to the login page. You can also click on “Refund Policy” (b) to read our refund policy regarding the MEEP! Coins.

. You can click on “Privacy Policy” (c) and Terms of services (d) to read our legal terms regarding MEEP! Together as well as the MEEP!X2 device itself. You can click anywhere outside the pop up window to go back to the login page.

 

8.1.2 Login Page

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

. If you have already created a parent account, enter your email address (a) and Password (b) to log in the MEEP! Together Parent Portal.

. If you have forgotten your password, click on the Forgot Password (c) button to retrieve your password.

. If you don’t have a parent account yet, click on the Create (d) button to start.

. If you want the Parent Portal page to remember your login information each time you connect, click the Remember Me (e) box.

. If you need further support, click on the Help icon (f). It will re-direct you to our support page.

 

8.1.3 Forget Password

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

. Enter your email address inside the blank area (a) and click on the Confirm button (b) to proceed.

. You will then receive a reset password email in your mailbox with a link to reset your password. Note: please remember that this email can sometimes be sent to the junk/spam folder in your mailbox.

. After clicking on the link, you will be redirected to a reset password page. Input your email address and new password so that you can use the new password to login after confirmation.

 

 

8.1.4 Create a Parent Account

 

Step 1) Enter Serial Number

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You need to enter your MEEP!X2 serial number to verify that you are the owner of the MEEP!X2 Tablet. The serial number is located at the back of the MEEP!X2, printed on a small sticker.

 

Click on the Confirm button (a) to proceed or click on the Back button to go back to the login page.

 

 

Step 2) Read and Accept the Legal Terms

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You are recommended to read through the whole legal documents.

 

You have to check the box (a) to show that you have read and accepted all the terms before you can proceed to the next step.

Click on the Confirm button (b) to proceed or click on the Back button (c) to go back to the login page.

 

Step 3) Create Parent Account – Input personal data

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Enter your personal data in order to setup a Parent Account (AKA MEEP! Boss Account). With this account you will be able to monitor your child MEEPer account.

 

The fields marked with star (a) must be filled before you can proceed to the next step.

 

Choose your country carefully (b) – it relates to the downloadable content you will be able to access in the MEEP! Store (for example, if you choose United States, you will have access to the content of the United States MEEP! Store only).

 

Click on the Confirm button (c) to proceed or click on the Back button (d) to go back to the login page.

 

Step 4) Account Confirmation

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A confirmation email with a link will be sent to your mailbox in order to verify if your email address is correct.

 

Please note that this email may sometimes appear in the the junk /spam folder in your mailbox.

 

The confirmation email should be sent to you shortly after the creation of your parent account. However, if you can’t receive the email, click on the Resent mail button (a) and our server would send the email again.

 

Click Login (b) to go back to the login page. You must activate your account using the link provided in the confirmation email before you can login successfully to the parental portal.

 

Click on the link to activate your account f your default browser is Google Chrome or Safari. If it's not the case, please copy and paste the link in a Google Chrome or Safari browser instead. After clicking on the link, you will be redirected back to the Login Page.

 

Step 5) Create a Child Account

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Enter the name and birthday of your child in order to setup a Child Account (MEEPer account) on your MEEP!X2.

 

Click on the Add button (a) to proceed.

 

Remember to restart your MEEP!X2 so that your it will retrieve successfully the newly created account.

 

Step 6) Finished

 

The account setup is finished. We recommend you to visit the parental settings page for you to assign the best settings for your child.

 

Click on the Start button to be redirected to the Parental Setting Page. On this page, you will be able to modify the parental settings for your child's MEEP!X2 Please refer to the Parental Setting in the last section of MEEP!X2 Together for more details.

 

 

8.1.5. Main menu

 

This page will be displayed every time you login to the MEEP! Together website.

 

On this page, you will be able to see all the child accounts associated with your parent account.

 

. Click on a child account to view the different settings available for this account.

. Click on “Add New” to add a new child account to your parent account.

 

The following options are also available on this page:

 

. Logout button (a) – Click on it to logout from the current account.

 

. MEEP! Together icon or Home button (b) – Click on it to return to Main Menu no matter which page you are currently viewing (once logged in)

 

. Account icon (c) - Click on it to manage the accounts associated to your parent account. Please refer to the Account Management section for more details.

 

. Coins icon (d) – Click on it to buy or allocate coins to your child account. Please refer to the Coins Management section for more details.

 

. Help icon (e) – Click on it to go our Support Page.

 

 

8.1.6. Notifications

 

On this page, you will receive any notifications associated to the child account, regarding Game Purchase approval, Coins request and Friend’s request approval.

 

8.1.7. Parental Settings

 

On this page, you can decide the type of settings and the degree of control you want your child to have when using the different features of the MEEP!X2

 

Note: if you have more than one child associated to your account, please select a child first (a) before to proceed.

 

You can choose between three levels of Security.

 

High Security Level: all online functions are blocked and your child will only have access to a limited amount of the features of the MEEP! X2.

 

Low Security Level: your child will have access to all online functions. No time limit will be applied to the different features of the MEEP!X2.

 

Custom Security Level: you will be free to edit the time limit and restrictions for each app the way you want.

 

Here are the different settings available for the Custom Security Level:

 

1. Time Management

 

Apps / Games / Movies / Music / e-Book / Pictures

 

. The default setting for the above features is “Unlimited” so that your child can enjoy the MEEP!X2 straight out of the box.

. You can set a time limit for the daily usage of those features by moving the time slider bar (b) on one of the pre-determined values.

. If you set the time bar to “Blocked”, your child won’t be able to use the feature.

. If you set the time bar to any other value, your child will be able to use the feature for the corresponding time within every 24 hours.

. The timer will be reset at the end of each day.

 

YouTube Player / Web Browser

 

. The default setting for the above features is “Unlimited” so that your child can enjoy the MEEP!X2 straight out of the box.

. You can modify the time limit for the usage of those features by sliding the time bar on one of the pre-determined values.

. If you set the time bar to “Blocked”, your child won’t be able to use the feature.

. If you set the time bar to any other value, your child will be able to use the feature for the corresponding time within every 24 hours.

. The timer will be reset at the end of each day.

 

Communicator

 

. It is blocked by default and required an Adult verification (d) to be unblocked. Please refer to the Adult Verification section later in the manual.

. Once the adult verification completed, you can either unblock the app or keep it blocked. There is no time management available for the Communicator.

 

2. Store Purchase

 

MEEP! Store Purchase

 

. If you select “Blocked”, your child won't be able to make any purchases from the MEEP! Store while he/she can still browse the store and view the content.

. If you select “Approval needed”, any purchase from the store will need your approval in order to proceed. Once the approval has been given, your child will be able to proceed with the purchase, as long as there are enough coins available in the child account.

. If you select “Full access”, your child will be able to purchase content freely from the store without asking for your approval, as long as there are enough coins available in the child account.

 

In-apps purchase

 

. If you select Blocked, your child won’t be able to make any in-app purchase.

. If you select Full Access, your child will be able to proceed with the purchase as long as they have enough coins in their account, given that the content supports this function.

. This control doesn’t include the content from Google Play.

 

3. Internet Security

 

Security level

 

This setting determines the level of security applied to the keyboard-related MEEP!X2 features, namely the Communicator, the Web Browser, the YouTube player and all other search, edit or rename functions.

 

There are 2 options available:

 

. If you choose ‘High’, your child will only be able to access certain websites and YouTube video suggested by you or us.

. If you choose ‘Low’, your child will be able to use the Search function of the Web Browser and YouTube player and there will be less restriction on the web surfing.

Bad Words List

 

. By default, a Bad Word List and a blacklisted URL List is applied to the MEEP!X2. As a parent, you can choose to not include the Bad Word list by un-clicking the selection box next to the Bad word list mention.

. You can add other words or URLs to the Bad Word List by typing them in the designated area and clicking on the [+] sign.

. Click on Confirm button (h) to confirm the setting changes. Make sure that you MEEP!X2 is connected to the Wi-Fi so that it can receive the new settings.

. It may take a short time for the server to synchronize the newly saved settings with the MEEP!X2. However, the new settings will be saved on the server if the MEEP!X2 is not connected to the Wi-Fi. The settings will then be synchronized to the MEEP!X2 once it goes online.

 

8.1.8 Supervisor

 

You can choose to design another adult to be a supervisor for your child account. It means that this person will be able to approve/reject download purchases, friend’s requests and other requests coming for your child’s account.

 

To add a supervisor, please type the supervisor’s email in the “Add a supervisor” text box and click on the [+] sign.

 

8.1.9 Activities

 

In this section, you can view all the activities of your child on the MEEP!X2.

 

8.1.10 Coins Management

 

On this page, you can manage the MEEP! coins associated with your child account. MEEP! coin is the currency used in the MEEP! Store for content purchase.

 

The amount of coins available in your account is displayed on the top left corner of the page (a) or in the coins purchase page (b).

 

By clicking on the Coins icon, you will see two options. Please see below for details:

 

Allocate Coins

 

. You can allocate your purchased MEEP! coins to your child account. With those coins, your child will be able to purchase content (with or without your approval, depending on your parental settings) from the MEEP! Store.

. If you have more than one child associated to your account, please select a child first (h) before allocating the coins.

. Enter the desired amount of coins in the blank box (i). Please make sure that the amount entered is equal or lower than the overall amount of coins you own in your parent account.

. Click on confirm to proceed with the coins allocation.

 

If you don’t have enough coins in your account to allocate to your child’s account, you can click on the Coins icon and follow the bellow instructions in order to buy more coins.

Add Coins

 

. You can add coins to your parent account. Just click on any of the amounts to start purchasing coins.

. Once you've selected a chosen amount, you will be re-directed to the WorldPay online payment gateway. This website is not operated by us.

. Click Proceed to Payment button to open the WorldPay home page and proceed with your payment.

Please note that the 3rd party payment portal, World Pay, is not operated by us. We cannot access and save any information input during the billing process. We are also not involved in any issue for unsuccessful transaction but the payment portal or the bank that issue the credit card.

 

 

8.1.11 Suggestions

 

 

The suggestion page allows you to suggest specific URLs (web pages or You Tube) to your child.

First select the type of URL you want to suggest (YouTube video or Web site) then type the URL in the blank box and click on the [+] sign to add.

 

Click on the delete button next to the URL to remove it from the list.

 

Click on the Confirm button (d) to confirm the changes made. Once saved the suggestions will then appear on your child's MEEP!X2, in the Web Browser or in the YouTube player.

 

If you have more than one child associated to your account, please select a child first before to proceed.

 

Note: it may take a short time for the server to synchronize the newly saved settings with the MEEP!X2. However, the new settings will be saved on the server if the MEEP!X2 is not connected to the Wi-Fi. The settings will then be synchronized to the MEEP!X2 once it goes online.

 

8.1.12 Google Play Access

 

. We offer the possibility to download apps from Google Play on the MEEP!X2

. In order to use Google Play on the MEEP!X2, you'll need to register a Google Play account on the MEEP!X2

. To proceed, click on the Open Google Play Button that you can find within the MEEP! Together Parental Portal (either on the device or via the web version).

 Read carefully the message that will pop up, it contains some important statement regarding Google Play usage on the MEEP!X2

. Once you accept, you will be redirected to the Google Play home page.

. Follow the step-by-step procedure to create a new Google Play account especially for your MEEP!X2.

We strongly recommend you to create an especially dedicated Gmail address for this process so that there will be no risk that you child might access your emails if you were using your own Gmail address.

. Please remember that the content from Google Play is not controlled or supervised by us in any ways.

 

 

8.2. On-Device Parental Settings

 

It is possible to create your parent account or access your existing account directly on the MEEP!X2, by tapping the Parental Settings icon on the left-hand menu.

 

When accessing the parental portal from the MEEP! X2 tablet specifically, when you exit the parental portal you will receive a “session timed out” message.  This is by design and is meant to show that you’ve logged out of the portal so that your CHILD will not have access to the parental portal at that point.

 

When you open the App for the first time, you will see the following screen:

 

1. Account Creation

 

1.1 Case 1: You already created a parent account

 

. Tap on Yes to be redirected to the login page

. Tap on Login and enter your personal information (email address and password)

 

a. You already have a child account associated to your parent account and you want to migrate it to this new MEEP!X2 (after an exchange or replacement of your previous MEEP!X2):

 

. Tap on the MEEPer account that you want to migrate

. Reboot your device in order to complete the migration process

 

b. You want to add a new child account to this existing parent account:

 

. Tap on the [+] button at the corner of the screen

. Enter your child information: first name, last name and birthday

. Reboot your device in order to complete the child account creation

 

 

1.2. Case 2: You haven’t previously created any parent account

 

. Tap on Register

. Read and accept the Terms of service

. Enter your personal information as well as your child information

. A confirmation email with a link will be sent to your mailbox. You have to confirm your email address within 30 days by clicking on this link. If you can’t receive this email, you can tap on Resend Confirmation email to resent the confirmation email.

. Reboot your device in order to complete the creation of your parent account as well as your child account

 

 

2. Parental Settings

 

When you login into the MEEP! Together app, the main page will display the different settings available in the Parental Settings.

 

Apps/Game/Movie/Music/E-Book/Picture/Browser/YouTube

 

. Tap on the app icon to access the different options available for the Time Limit.

. Select your time for this app then tap on the Back button to go back to the Main Page

 

Communicator

 

 You can either choose to let your child use the Communicator (ON) or block its access completely (OFF).

 

Please note that you need to proceed with the Adult verification prior to be able to set the Communicator access via the On device Parental Settings.

 

Download Permission

 

For the MEEP! Store purchase, you have three options to choose from:

 

• If you select ' Blocked', your child won't be able to make any purchases from the MEEP! Store while he/she can still browse the store and view the content.

• If you select ' Approval needed', any purchase from the store will need your approval in order to proceed. Once the approval has been given, your child will be able to proceed with the purchase, as long as there are enough coins available in the child account.

• If you select 'Full access', your child will be able to purchase content freely from the store without asking for your approval, as long as there are enough coins available in the child account.

 

For the In-App Purchase, you can either choose to open this feature to your child (ON) or block it (OFF)

 

Security Level

 

This setting determines the level of security applied to all the keyboard-related MEEP!X2 features, namely the Communicator, the Web Browser, the YouTube player and all other search, edit or rename functions.

 

There are 2 options available.

 

. If you choose ‘ON’, your child will only be able to access certain websites and YouTube video suggested by you or us.

 

. If you choose ‘OFF’, your child will be able to use the Search function of the Web Browser and YouTube player and there will be less restriction on the web surfing.

 

No matter which setting you choose, Black Word List and Black URL List would be applied to the MEEP!X2

 

Note: you can clear the current time settings on the MEEP!X2 by tapping on the clock icon. It will reset all the current time record on the MEEP!X2

 

 

3. Side Menu

 

Tap on the Menu icon to display the side menu of the App

In the top left corner your name and amount of coins in your account will be displayed.

Tap on your name to access your profile and modify the registered data (Name, photo…) if needed.

 

a) Notifications

 

Tap on it to view all the requests sent by your child (Friend’s request, Download’s request…)

 

b) Child account

 

Tap on it to access your child profile and modify the registered data (Name, birthday, photo…) if needed.

 

c) Open Google Play

 

Tap on it to open Google Play home page on the MEEP!X2

 

d) Logout

 

Tap on it to logout of the MEEP! Together App.

You can also logout of the App by tapping the back button or home button.

 

 

8.3. iOS/Android version

 

If you have an iOS or Android device, it is possible to create your parent account or access your existing account directly on your smart device, by downloading for free the iOS/Android MEEP! Together App.

 

Please follow the bellow step-by-step instructions to learn more about the MEEP! Together App.

When you open the App for the first time, you will see the following screen.

 

 

1. Account Creation

 

1.1 Case 1: You already created a parent account

 

. Tap on Login and enter your personal information (email address and password)

 

1.2. Case 2: You haven’t previously created any parent account

 

. Tap on Register

. Read and accept the Terms of service

. Enter the SN of your MEEP!X2

. Enter your personal information

. A confirmation email with a link will be sent to your mailbox. Click on the link to verify your email address. If you can’t receive this email, you can tap on the Resend email button (it will appear when you try to login) to resent the confirmation email.

. Login again into the MEEP! Together app

. Enter your child information

. Reboot your device in order to complete the child account creation

 

 

2. Side Menu

 

Tap on the Menu icon to display the side menu of the App

In the top left corner your name and amount of coins in your account will be displayed.

Tap on your name to access your profile and modify the registered data (Name, photo, password…) if needed.

 

a) Parental Settings

You can also add a new child account (new MEEP!X2 with new Serial Number) here by tapping on the [+] icon in the top right corner of the screen.

e) MEEP! Coins

 

Tap on it to allocate coins to your child account. If you have more than one child account, please select a child first before to allocate the coins.

 

f) Logout

 

Tap on it to logout of the MEEP! Together App.

You can also logout of the App by tapping the back button or home button.

 

 

. Suggestions icon (e) – Click on it to suggest website or YouTube URLs to your child. Please refer to the Suggestion section for more details.

 

. Parental Settings (f) – Click on it to setup the parental settings for your child. Please refer to the Parental Settings section for more details..

 

. Log (g) – You can view the activities of your child on his MEEP!X2. If you have more than one MEEP!X2 associated to your parent account, remember to select the correct child by clicking on the arrow button (g1).

 

. Notification (h) – You can view here important messages from your child including 1) Friend request, 2) Content Purchase, 3) Coins request. If you have more than one MEEP!X2 associated to your parent account, remember to select the correct child by clicking on the arrow button (h1).

 

. Chat (i) – Click on your child's name to start a chat. If your child is not online, the displayed name would be grey. It may sometimes take a short delay for the server to send the message to the MEEP!X2 (or vice versa) depending mainly on the Internet speed.
